Hope deferred

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. Proverbs 13:12 I heard this saying today and it made me think about everyone who is hoping for big things to happen in their lives. People that are hoping for a baby, for love, for a home, for a job, for acceptance, for a cure, for forgiveness, for understanding, for peace, for friendship, for financial stability, for happiness and the list goes on and on.

I think the only thing we can do while we hope and pray for ourselves and others is to look for joy in everyday moments. Maybe even be the joy for someone else. Enjoy a good cup of coffee or a funny video. Enjoy using the stairs in an air conditioned building because it is 109 outside. And be thankful your body can use the stairs. Spend time with people that are joyful and grateful. Focus on what is working and going well. Spend more time doing things that make your heart feel lighter. Be helpful to someone else. Remind yourself that things change, after a bit of time and effort. Be kind to yourself and others. Look ahead and be positive.

I am hoping that whatever your heart is longing for.... is fulfilled.
